Industrial Door Fabricators shot for Industrail Door Contractors in Columbia, TN

Industrial Door Fabricators

We did this shoot with no styling, on the machine shop floor, during work hours. We literally walked across the floor and grabbed these guys and told them to look mean. The greatest challenge we overcame on this shoot was shooting tethered in this environment.

This photo is only one of many, the rest of the series is worth seeing. Cabedge.com did an amazing job on the site, HangerDoor.com.

Vocal teacher and artist development expert Dave Brooks shot in Studio; Brentwood, TN

Dave Brooks

Dave Brooks is a vocal coach that teaches "style." Not being a singer, I have no idea what that means. Except, he's got some golden pipes and very long list of client that contains some of the who's who in music today.

Meghan D'Amico in Studio; Brentwood, TN

Meghan D'Amico

This is the younger of my two exceptionally talented sisters, Meghan. She writes and plays a handful of instruments and now she's trying her hand at the artist's life.

Cover of Grant Garland's self titled Album shot in Nashville

Grant Garland

This is the cover art for Grant's self titled debut album. This shoot was unique in that we had a 3:45AM call in order to do a night setup for the album art and a sunrise shot for promotion of the artist.

Prophetik Spring line 2009 shot in the label's studio, Franklin, TN

Prophetik Art

Sometimes the angle makes the shot. We lit this to be shot from the ground eye level with the female model, but upon exploring a little decided up was better.

So we were doing a little PR shoot for Big John Murray and out of the blue he starts talking about how he wants to be in horror films, so here we go. John, it’s your horror head shot!

Photobooth Headshots shot for cabedge.com in Nashville

Photobooth Headshots

For a time I worked at Cabedge.com as their Director of Photography, while I was there we came up with this team photo idea, in a photo booth. Now let’s be honest, who really wants to drop the cash to pickup a photo booth machine, when all you need is a sealed concrete hallway and piece of white seamless paper, right?

Henry Ross photographed for Aegis Healthcare Marketing in Nashville

Henry Ross

Henry Ross is the CEO/President of Aegis Healthcare Marketing here in Brentwood. It’s always a challenge photographing "C level" executives, they’ve had their photo made several hundred times and they usually have three seconds to sit before they are on to the next thing. Well, Henry sat for several exposures and we were able to grab this perfectly stylized shot.

Grant Garland photographed on Riverfront in Nashville

Sunrise on the River

Grand Garland’s team needed more than album art from us when we did his shoot, they needed headshots, PR images, and web content. We all know how important it is for musicians to relate to their fans, capturing personality is paramount.

Dave Robbins photographed in Downtown Franklin

Hands of a Master

Dave Robbins recently launched a solo career so we shot a bunch of images for album art, web art, and PR. We shot this wide open, waiting for props to show up, sometimes it’s the "outtakes" that make the book.

Prophetik's Spring 2009 Look photographed in Nashville

Horses at Sunset

In a round about way I got to shoot a little fashion work for Prophetik out of downtown Franklin. I love to shoot fashion, you know it keeps my art skills sharp. Yes, I do work with animals.

McKenna Saunders model test shot outside of Franklin, TN

McKenna Saunders

This was a model test that has become a staple of the portfolio, we made that dress from scraps we found at Goodwill and shot on a 65 acre farm in Williamson County.

Ashley Kemp photographed in Franklin, TN

A Beautiful Mess

This was shot as the cover art for Ashley Kemp’s first album. Despite the HDR look of this image, there was very little retouching, we had 5 lights and a bight sunny day and sculpted the light to look this way.

Client: Buena Fumar
Location: Nashville, TN

Kimberley Qiunn photographed in Franklin, TN

Kimberley Quinn

Kim and I worked together for a long time and she’s a very talented artist. I can’t lie, this shoot was a nightmare. We had problems with the flash tube, lights were not syncing, the clouds were moving fast and the ambient light was random. Everyone was happy with the finished product though!

Client: Kimberly Quinn
Location: Nashville, TN

Jessica Schneider photographed at St Paul's Episcopal Church, Franklin, TN

Jessica Schneider

Once again, we constructed this dress from remnants and dyed the components to match. The location and bench were borrowed from a local church and antique dealer. On a technical note we had to suspend the back light from the roof using sandbags and c-stands, that was interesting.

Girl in an Up do and a Gas Mask shot in Franklin

Gas Mask

This was primarily a promotional shot for a local clothing label, but I repurposed it and submitted it to a “dangers of cosmetics” photo contest. It didn’t win, but we did make the background and this is a one light image.

C-Store owner Rose photographed for BP, in Fayetteville, AR

Iranians in Arkansas

Recently, I got an assignment to shoot a human interest story for BP. The shoot was very technically challenging, from the standpoint that they would not shut down the store for even a few minutes to shoot a portrait. It was an afternoon of run and gun shooting the shop owners in their environment, in between customers in one of the busiest c-stores in Arkansas.
